Leadership Team

Under Howell’s leadership, ION is now helping many of the industry’s largest affordable developers, including Dominium, Kittle, Standard, Pennrose and others to optimize water consumption. Prior to ION, Howell served as Chief Development and Underwriting Officer for multi-family private equity group Denton Floyd. While there, he led the acquisition, development and underwriting of financing, budgets and proforma. He also led the development of two $50M student housing projects at the University of Louisville. Howell also served in several other senior roles in commercial property management.

He brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge in financial operations. Previously he served as CFO for a technology startup, guiding the business to secure Series A funding while leading strategic financial planning initiatives. Crandall’s prior experiences include leading global digital and process transformation initiatives along with senior finance and operations roles at Hertz Global and General Electric Company.

Eric Homberger joins ION Water with a robust track record in business and corporate development, strategic finance and water intelligence. As senior vice president of business development at True Elements, Homberger played a key role in evolving the company from a proof of concept to a pioneering water intelligence system. His experience also includes leadership roles in digital technology and field sales for BASF Corporation, and senior roles with Honeywell, including a general manager position and finance director roles.

He helps define ION’s go-to-market strategy and areas of focus of the business. Warner’s career has been dedicated to advancing investment, enterprise and a healthy society through sustainable food, energy, water and infrastructure development. From non-profit to public to high-tech industries, Warner has vast experience in sustainability and property development.

He is responsible for growing ION’s presence within Affordable Housing and ensuring that ION’s clients receive the highest levels of service. Valdes also leads ION’s marketing strategy. Prior to ION, Valdes served in numerous senior sales and business development roles with renewable energy and sustainable technology providers.

With 15 years of operations experience, Hohn previously served as senior service director for GE Renewable Energy where he managed all aspects of a $100 million business with over 140 employees and 2,800 wind turbines. While with GE Renewable Energy, he also served as North American operations leader and western region operations leader and site manager. Prior to GE Renewable Energy, Hohn was plant manager for one of the largest medical gas plants in North America. He was also a captain in the Army where he served as operations manager for two 80-person special forces companies.

Wolfendale brings more than 10 years’ experience in real estate and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industries. Prior to ION, she served as Vice President of Property Acquisitions for Guide Property Services, bringing on over 40k units and ensuring positive cash flow from day one. She also served as a Sr. Account Executive at Loftium where she helped first time home buyers make homeownership a reality. With a passion for sustainable living, Wolfendale is determined to bring water conservation to the forefront and create awareness of the immense need throughout affordable housing.
